CERC Review Panel Biographies- Lennart Josefson

Dr. Lennart Josefson is a professor of solid mechanics at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. He is also on special assignment as chair of the Faculty Appointment Committee, with responsibility for matters relating to recruitment and promotions, and as director for the Swedish Hybrid Vehicle Centre, a national Centre of Excellence whose partners include the Swedish Energy Agency, three Swedish universities and five Swedish original equipment manufacturers.

Josefson is studying methods to describe the impact of welding on deformations in complex structures, and on the initiation and growth of fatigue cracks.

He received his PhD from Chalmers University of Technology.
