CERC Review Panel Biographies- Ignacio Rodriguez-Iturbe

Dr. Ignacio Rodriguez-Iturbe is the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of civil and environmental engineering at Princeton University.

He is the recipient of, among other awards, the 2009 Bowie Medal of the American Geophysical Union and the 2002 Stockholm Water Prize, received for his role in developing the science of hydrology. He is a member of numerous academies throughout the world, including the US National Academy of Engineering and the Vatican and Spanish academies of sciences.

Originally from Venezuela, Rodriguez-Iturbe received his MSc from the California Institute of Technology and his PhD from Colorado State University. His main areas of research are ecohydrology and the analysis, synthesis and sampling of hydrologic processes.
